How Pricing Works

Nanny Rates

Nannies set their own hourly rates based on their experience, qualifications, and the services they provide. Rates typically range from:

  • $18-$22/hour - Entry-level nannies (1-2 years experience)
  • $22-$28/hour - Experienced nannies (3-5 years experience)
  • $28-$35/hour - Senior nannies (5+ years) with specialized skills
  • $35-$45/hour - Expert nannies with ECE certification or special needs training

Rates are clearly displayed on each nanny's profile before you book.

Platform Service Fee

Trusted Nanny charges a small service fee to maintain our platform, conduct background checks, and provide 24/7 support:

  • For Families: 15% service fee on the booking total
  • For Nannies: 10% service fee on earnings

This fee covers:

  • Comprehensive background checks and verification
  • Secure payment processing and escrow services
  • Insurance coverage for all bookings
  • 24/7 customer support
  • Platform maintenance and improvements
  • Dispute resolution services

Minimum Booking

Most nannies require a minimum booking duration:

  • Typical minimum: 3-4 hours per booking
  • Some nannies offer: 2-hour minimums for regular clients
  • Overnight care: Usually 8-12 hour minimums

What Affects Rates?

Several factors influence a nanny's hourly rate:

  • Experience Level: More years of professional childcare experience
  • Certifications: CPR, First Aid, ECE, special needs training
  • Education: Degrees in Early Childhood Education or related fields
  • Number of Children: Caring for multiple children typically costs more
  • Special Skills: Tutoring, meal preparation, special needs care
  • Language Skills: Bilingual or multilingual nannies
  • Hours: Evening, overnight, or weekend care may cost more
  • Location: Rates vary by city and cost of living

Payment Methods

We accept all major payment methods:

  • Visa, Mastercard, American Express
  • Debit cards (Interac)
  • Pre-authorized payments for recurring bookings
  • Digital wallets (Apple Pay, Google Pay)

All payments are processed securely through PCI-compliant payment gateways.

How Payment Works

For Families:

  1. Book a nanny and enter payment information
  2. Payment is authorized but held in secure escrow
  3. Nanny completes the service
  4. Payment is automatically released to the nanny
  5. You receive an itemized receipt via email

For Nannies:

  1. Accept a booking from a family
  2. Complete the service professionally
  3. Payment is automatically released from escrow
  4. Earnings appear in your account (minus service fee)
  5. Withdraw funds weekly via direct deposit

Cancellation Fees

Our cancellation policy protects both families and nannies:

  • 24+ hours notice: Full refund, no fees
  • 12-24 hours notice: 50% cancellation fee
  • Less than 12 hours: 100% cancellation fee
  • No-show: 100% charge plus potential platform penalty

No Hidden Fees

Unlike other platforms, we don't charge:

  • ❌ Registration fees (free to join)
  • ❌ Monthly membership fees
  • ❌ Profile creation fees
  • ❌ Messaging or communication fees
  • ❌ Payment processing fees (included in service fee)
  • ❌ Withdrawal or transfer fees

The only costs are the nanny's rate and our transparent service fee. What you see is what you pay.

Tax Information

For Families:

Childcare expenses may be tax-deductible. We provide all necessary receipts and documentation for tax filing. Consult your tax advisor for details on claiming childcare expenses.

For Nannies:

All earnings are reported as income. You'll receive tax documents (T4A) annually for your tax filing. As an independent contractor, you're responsible for your own tax obligations.

Price Example

Booking Details:

  • Nanny hourly rate: $25/hour
  • Duration: 4 hours
  • Subtotal: $100
  • Service fee (15%): $15
  • Total charge: $115

The nanny receives $90 ($100 minus 10% service fee) and you pay $115 (including 15% service fee).
